What is art? No one decides this for you. If you dislike paintings of tomato cans, how can anyone change your mind?
Likewise, if you see a painting and are drawn to it, can you help it? Will anyone be able to convince you otherwise? You cannot talk someone out of liking something, much less something that resonates within you. YOU MUST HAVE IT!
As artists, we paint from passion. It is most difficult to create art on demand. Consignment paintings can be an artists' nightmare because you are painting based on someone else's feelings, not your own. The question, "Will this please the paying customer?" is one of the most annoying pieces of static in an artist's mind while trying to paint from his or her heart. But. If a client says, "I need a 48" x 36" piece for my den, paint what you want!" you have music in your heart and will get a much more genuine piece.
