The Art of Dr. Zest

I am an abstract artist.
My art is about passion -  passion expressed through paint and canvas - free of thought, enraptured with color, form, texture and movement.

Dr. Zest's Art Forms - Large and Small:

The ACEO ART Card:  Art Card Exhibits and Originals is a standardized art form, the only requirement that it must be exactly 2.5 inches x 3.5 inches.  I prefer painting on 140 watercolor paper with acrylics and enamels. Much of first few pages of art here are ACEO Art Cards.

Luscious Series: I use thick paints with extravagant strokes to evoke dramatic emotion.

Futuristic Series: This is a flowing technique that I fell in love with recently. It works no matter what the size.

Drip Paintings: I was painting like this almost like automatic writing before I ever heard of Jackson Pollock. When I saw his work at MOMA in New York I almost cried. I understood him instantly.  He was a subconscious genius of an artist. He was the Freud of modern art. Just as psychologists are still trying to understand Freud, few in the art field have come close to getting Pollock.
